Two Festival shows in two nights this week.
And two VERY different versions of Life On Mars by David Bowie.
First up on Thursday, The Bad Plus. (the quality is pretty poor on that video, but this will give you a better idea of their funky sound)
Then last night, The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain.
Good fun! :-)
PS I also recommend Cirque Ici (if you can still get a ticket?), although he didn’t play any Bowie.
How did I know you were going to recommend Cirque Ici after I’ve spent all day complaining about how bad it was? :)
I went last night and just found it boring (stacking books for 20 minutes?) and he seemed to be having a very bad night as far as getting his tricks working goes.. But I wonder if I just didn’t ‘get’ it or if maybe I’m just super impatient or maybe the point was just that he was all weird and freaky…
I love our Ukulele Orchestra though so that was bound to be amazing and have really been enjoying the free concerts at Frank Kitts and Waitangi Parks!
[...] We saw some shows, and also made it out to see three movies on the big screen (Ironman, Dark Knight & Wall-E, since you asked). We watched lots more on the still-big-but-not-as-big screen at home. [...]
