Hi all,

Air NZ recently updated the design of its e-tickets, at the same time upgrading the system which generates the email and attached documents. The PDF and calendar appointment missing from the email when viewed in the Apple Mail client is a teething problem which is being actively closed down. We hope to have a fix in place later in the week.

I have the same problem, when I forwarded them onto my wife the attachments weren't actually there anymore. The way I got around it was this:

In mail with the message highlighted in the top pane, go up to file>save attachments and then go through the standard dialogue. When you browse in finder, there they are.

I find the problem very quirky, and is the only pdf's I have ever seen do it.

I have the same problems with Mail.app and the AirNZ boarding pass e-mails (I first encountered the problem back in January). It appears that its an obscure bug with Mail.app that occurs with some e-mails: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8183957&tstart=0

Based on this: http://www.nabble.com/Mail.app-missing-attachments-tc19223199.html it seems that it has something to do with inline attached images.

The "solution" (short of waiting for Apple to fix it) is to select the e-mail in the e-mail list and use the Cmd+Y shortcut for quick viewing the attachments. The attachment(s) will appear in quick view and you can page through them and open and of them in Preview etc (by double clicking on them).

Clearly that’s not a fix for your problem with TripIt though, maybe try forwarding as an attachment? (in the hope that it preserves the original message as it was received... and that TripIt supports e-mails forwarded as attachments). To do so right/command click on the message in the list and choose "Forward as Attachment".

Hi Rowan,

I had the same problem with a new format domestic Air NZ ticket, but notified TripIt support and within about 4 hours they had updated their code to support the new format. I was very pleased with the support offered. I would suggest contacting them.

Kind regards,
