Q: What’s the R0 of misinformation?

A secret is something we tell one other person. But I think that number could be much higher when we’re talking about rumour, fear and superstition.

We have some well proven and simple techniques to stop a virus from spreading: we wash our hands, we keep our distance, we wear a face mask.

What are the equivalent things that slow the spread of false information? It seems like modern tools and algorithms do the opposite.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, when the virus could by spread so easily from innocent little actions, did you find it easier to stop unconsciously touching your face or stop unconsciously checking your social media feed?
